The course
This is not a parking-lot 5K. The course winds through wooded trails, opens up across grassy fields, and finishes over asphalt — a genuine cross-country mix that rewards smart pacing. Trail shoes help in the woods; road shoes survive just fine.

Why we run
The XC5K is the annual fundraiser for Scouting America Troop 268, chartered at Chamblee First United Methodist Church. Your entry fee sends Scouts to summer camp, puts tents on campouts, and funds the gear, training, and service projects that turn kids into leaders. The Scouts of Troop 268 help design, mark, and staff the course — you'll see them out there on race morning.
Local business? Sponsor the race
Sponsorships are available at three levels named for Scouting's trail to Eagle — Star, Life, and Eagle. Get your name in front of every runner while supporting the troop.
